This day looked normal back then but it changed my life. I went from yet another high schooler to national news overnight.

The traditional corporate IIT route never appealed to me, and the popularity I enjoyed due to my rank helped me pursue so many different careers.

Over the years, I’ve been an educator, built businesses, spoken across the country, invested, travelled, and very recently, started releasing my own music as a singer-songwriter.

My final advice would be to just not stress and give the exam in a relaxed mood.

Do some mocks, revise your notes and revision courses one last time and give it like just another exam!

If you’ve worked hard, you got nothing to worry about - and if you didn’t, well then you shouldn’t worry either, right?

1. Give a lot of mock tests now. 2x mock tests on the daily will help you revise in the best way possible, give you loads of previous year questions that can repeat, and improve your speed and accuracy.

2. Read NCERT. At least the Chemistry NCERT would be nice. You will score at least 2-4 more questions if you read the NCERT in final week. So many questions come directly from it and everyone skips it!

3. Be okay with skipping questions. You will get 3 hours. It is okay to skip difficult sections and questions. In the first round you should just solve those questions you are confident of solving under 2 minutes.

4. Bonus tip: Study from a one-shot revision course. This can be a big game changer. But it’s hard to come across such courses as most are either too detailed or too summarised.

1. Do not study anything new. Even if you know little, just study what you know already. This helps with April attempt as well as you will be more confident with your existent topics and just need to study new topics.

2. Give a lot of tests. This is the best form of revision as you are practicing full syllabus questions, making it more likely that something you come across in these tests appears in your exam too. Also, this helps with accuracy and speed. 2x tests per day are recommended.

3. It’s not that deep. Too many aspirants emotionally attach with the exam and ruin it. You are better off thinking of this as just another test. If you over dramatise the exam (which happens a lot on social media and “IIT Bombay edits”) you risk panicking on the exam day.

How you invest and manage your income, specially when young, is way more important than how much you make.

Someone who invests merely 4-5k rupees every month in their 20s will see it becomes crores in their retirement age - this can fund your health, lifestyle, travel when you are older at not a big cost to your present.

Here are three rules of money for youngsters:

Rule 1: Be consistent

You don’t have to make a million rupees to win. Even saving small amounts matters in the long run. Most importantly, it teaches you how to be disciplined and budget well.

Every month the moment you get your salary or pay, take a 5-10% part of it and invest into an index or large cap mutual fund rightaway. This is called an SIP (systematic investment plan) and can be automated.

As your income and knowledge grows, you can start looking into individual stocks and small/midcap mutual funds. But for now, this will suffice.

Rule 2: Don’t forget to live

There’s another hilarious side of the internet which preaches to save every penny for your retirement and enjoy in your 60s.

This never makes sense to me as the value of travel and experiences is more when you are in your 20s and 30s. You will grow older, less energetic, and burdened with responsibilities.

You’ll probably not even have the time and energy to enjoy the money you saved (not to mention, many people die before or shortly after retirement - there go your SIPs!)

While it is important to save for the future so that you don’t starve if your income stalls, its equally important to enjoy what you have TODAY.

Rule 3: Get another income stream

A side hustle, a small business, freelancing, part time job - but the rule is that this income must 100% be invested. If you look at it this way, even a 5-10k rupees side income stream will make you motivated as all of it pours into your investments.

Jobs are very unstable in 2026, you never know when you are laid off. If you build a small business on the side, you can slowly even replace your job with it!

The peace of mind you get when you earn even Rs 1000 from another source is priceless.

Before we begin, I must point out two caveats from my previous lines. First, I say “relatively safe” - as there is nothing out there which won’t be affected to some degree by AI.

Second, I say “near future” because the pace of AI development is so high that it’s almost impossible to predict what happens after decades. So we stick to a 3 to 5 year timeline here.

Content

This is sort of a beaten to death horse at this point, but I feel the content creation industry will easily 100x from here.

We still haven’t hit full internet enablement in India, and the smartphone and internet connectivity in many areas isn’t good enough to support large scale content consumption.

The quality of content will improve massively, and even the common man will soon be making full scale movies using AI. Monetisation from said content is also relatively poor. There’s an easy 10x possible in both content adoption and monetisation.

AI will help create even more content than it was possible before as AI based editing, filming, and creating tools will bring the creation cost to zero.

Also, most of the part of being a successful creator is consistency, ideation, taste, execution - not necessarily your face. All of these are human traits, and it’s hard to replace the influencer economy fully by AI, at least for the next few years.

Heck, you can even make your own AI videos and make a living on YouTube. The scope of the content industry will only grow with AI.

IRL interactions/events

As people get more addicted to short form content, AI chatbots, and other digital means of comfort or addiction - IRL events make a comeback.

We already saw a miniature version of this post lockdown. So many people were predicting that the world will move to Zoom and Instagram but the IRL (in real life) economy has only grown since then.

All time high tourism, concerts, restaurants, etc show that people crave physical, real connection more than anything online.

As the world disconnects further thanks to AI chatbots and social media, the price of the physical world and its demand rises.

While people often say that a physical, in person business isn’t as frictionless as an online one, you cannot deny the rising demand and stability of such a business.

Hotels, restaurants, events, music, exotic experiences will all rise and no AI or automation can replace them - at least for now.

Building on top of AI

In the last few years, almost everyone who build a software or UI layer on top of LLMs has made a small fortune, if not big.

Even across jobs, the hiring for Data Scientists and ML engineers can’t stop rising.

You should see LLMs like the Internet - it’s not a business in itself, the businesses of future will be built on top of LLMs (and as we evolve further, even LLMs go obsolete and new tech takes over - a business layer doesn’t get affected if they adapt, but the tech goes to zero)

“If you can’t beat them, join them” - this phrase couldn’t be anymore true on today’s times.

I still think AGI is at least a decade away. I would suggest you to read up some books about AGI to know what it actually means instead of reading made up internet BS (this book is awesome).

You don’t necessarily have to build a business (although I strongly suggest it, the future is not certain for traditionally employed folks). Even picking up a job in these sectors is good enough as you won’t necessarily laid off (as there will likely not be a layoff).

As usual, being the best at what you do keeps you thriving no matter what. The best coders in the world won’t get replaced by Cursor or Antigravity. The best financial analysts don’t have to fear Grok doing better than them.

Remember, competence always gets rewards.

1. It takes time. Whatever your timeline for success is, it is likely too short. Achieving anything significant takes way more time than you think.

2. You are aiming too low. If you felt bad reading the first point, here’s the good news - once you give the required amount of time, you win BIG. More than you ever thought you will.

3. Only compounding games matter. If your field isn’t exponentially rewarding (more success yielding even more and faster success like investing, social media, networking) there’s no point of doing it. You want to be able to scale exponentially, even if you have to wait for it.

4. Patience is key. In an exponential curve, most of the growth comes towards the end. You have to keep digging till you hit gold - most quit right before they land a win.

5. You are likely not working hard enough. This doesn’t necessarily mean physical effort or hours put in. You must figure out a unique edge. Often, this edge requires insight more than effort. Work hard on finding your edge and insights, you are likely not putting enough effort into it.

6. Success is lumpy. Most of your accomplishments will comes from singular points in time spread across years. You’ll clear an exam, get that big salary hike, find a great exit for an investment etc. Don’t expect linear growth if you want to make it big.

7. Almost all advice is useless. There is no playbook when you are aiming for greatness, because you are exploring uncharted territory by definition. Listen to people, but use your own context to make decisions.

8. Think more, act less. Most of your life’s outcomes are decided by a handful of events. You really don’t want to mess those decisions up. It pays to think before you act, specially in potentially life changing situations.

9. Allow yourself to get lucky. The more people you interact with, the more ventures you attempt, the more bets you take, the more likely you are to stumble upon pure luck and land a big win. It’s insane how many people allow their hesitation and self doubt to get the best of them.

10. None of it matters. No one cares about your networth, your degrees, or your social status except for their own personal gains. Being obsessed with climbing the metaphorical ladder is useless pursuit. You might as well pursue what you truly like without caring how it would look to others - because no one is looking, and you will be dead before long. You are more likely to win doing something that truly inspires you.
