The first and most obvious step is to learn the basics of AI coding & functioning. Not only should you know the tech, you should also know the business applications.

Next, be active on Twitter and LinkedIn and follow all AI startup founders. Unless you have good tags and a credibility you likely won’t be selected in big tech companies through their selection portal.

You could however work in smaller startups that not only pay well, they will teach you a lot more and you also get equity. Be active when an opening comes and apply to the founder personally.

The third and most ignored step is to actually prepare for the interviews. Skills are a must, and so are communication skills.
