Often times we are burdened by our own past, specially if it’s a successful past.
The bright student never discovers his other talents, for he is too caught up in his “nerd” persona.
The guy with a comfortable, well settled life never takes any risks that could have elevated his position higher.
The failing business owner never tries to start some other venture, for he is too attached to his failing business.
The failed JEE aspirants never moves on and tries to make the best of her existing opportunities, as he is still living in her JEE failure.
You must learn to embrace new opportunities as and when they emerge, and let go of the past in favour of a better future.
All the above mentioned scenarios could result in much better outcomes if the past was let go of, a fresh leaf turned over, and a new course of life taken.
Be okay with letting go of short term results in favour of a better long term: it is usually obvious what a good course of action for the long term will be.
Do not let good be the enemy of great.
